Forget eating popcorn just in the movie theather, air-popped popcorn make for a super healthy snack at home with low calories and ofcourse great taste. For me, I absolutely love popcorn and there isnt a time when I will say no to it and after finding out that it makes one of the the best low calorie snacks when I want to munch, its now on my list of favorite diet snacks and healthy snacks for weight loss!
Low Calorie Snacks
AIR-POPPED POPCORN RECIPE
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter optional
- Salt to taste
Optional Seasonings
- Nutritional yeast
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Paprika
- Chili powder
- Dried herbs such as oregano or thyme
Instructions
Pop the Popcorn
- If using an air-popper, follow the manufacturer's instructions to pop the popcorn kernels until they are fully popped.
- If you don't have an air-popper, you can also pop the kernels using a stovetop method with a large pot and a lid. Heat the pot over medium-high heat, add the popcorn kernels, cover with the lid, and shake the pot occasionally until the popping slows down.
Season the Popcorn
- Once the popcorn is popped, transfer it to a large bowl.
- If desired, drizzle the popcorn with olive oil or melted butter for added flavor and richness. Toss the popcorn to coat evenly.
Add Salt and Seasonings
- Sprinkle salt over the popcorn to taste, tossing to distribute it evenly.
- Add any additional seasonings or flavorings you like, such as nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder for heat, or dried herbs for freshness. Toss the popcorn again to coat evenly with the seasonings.
Serve and Enjoy
- Your air-popped popcorn snack is now ready to be enjoyed!
