The fruits I use in any fruit salad recipe I make can vary depending on personal preference and of course seasonal availability. Sometimes I choose fruits according to the fruit salad dressing I’m making and sometimes I make fruit salad with cool whip which is the version kids love!My family’s favourite is my spicy lime dressing!

My Spicy lime fruit salad dressing is a tangy, zesty dressing typically made with lime juice, spices, and sometimes chili peppers or hot sauce for a kick of heat. I use it to add flavor to salads, grilled meats, seafood, or vegetables.

This spicy lime dressing pairs well with a variety of dishes, including salads, grilled chicken or fish, tacos, or drizzled over roasted vegetables. Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less chili powder or fresh chili pepper according to your taste preferences and enjoy!

The Perfect Seasonal Fruit Salad (With Spicy Lime Dressing)
Ingredients
For the Fruit Salad:
- 2 cups strawberries sliced
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2 cups grapes halved
- 2 cups pineapple chunks
- 2 kiwi fruits peeled and sliced
- 1 mango peeled and diced
- Juice of 1 lime or lemon
- Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish
For the Spicy Lime Dressing:
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice about 2-3 limes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic grated
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup optional, for sweetness
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder adjust to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Fruit Salad:
- Wash all the fruits thoroughly and dry them with a paper towel.
- Peel and cut up the pineapple into small bite sized pieces if not using canned. Peel and slice the kiwi and mangoes into bite sized pieces as well.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the prepared fruits: strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple chunks, kiwi fruits, and diced mango.
For the Spicy Lime Dressing:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, grated garlic, and honey if using. Mix until well combined.
- Now add the cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. If you’re using a fresh chili pepper, add it in as well.
- Whisk all the ingredients together until the dressing is well emulsified and the spices are evenly distributed.
- It’s very important to taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, pepper, or spices to suit your preferences.
- Once you’re satisfied with the flavor, you can gently toss the fruits together with the dressing until they are evenly mixed and coated with the dressing.
