Healthy Breakfast Fruit Salad with Honey-Lime Dressing

This fruit salad is the perfect addition to any brunch menu both refreshing and nutritious!

One of my tried-and-true healthy brunch recipes, I love making this in the summer when I need something fresh and heathy for the brunch table! I usually toss together a variety of fresh fruits such as berries, melons, and citrus fruits and then drizzle them with a mixture of honey and lime juice and its one of the best healthy breakfast ideas.

Healthy Breakfast Fruit Salad with Honey-Lime Dressing

Ingredients
  

For the fruit salad:

  • 2 cups strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup grapes halved
  • 2 kiwis peeled and sliced
  • 1 mango peeled and diced
  • 1 banana sliced

Optional additional fruits:

  • pineapple chunks
  • raspberries
  • blackberries
  • oranges

For the honey-lime dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Zest of 1 lime

Optional:

  • a pinch of ground cinnamon
  • fresh mint leaves for extra flavor

Instructions
 

  • Wash and prepare all the fruits as needed.
  • Slice, dice, or halve them according to your preference.
  • Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, fresh lime juice, and lime zest until well combined.
  • If desired, add a pinch of ground cinnamon or chopped fresh mint leaves for extra flavor.
  • Pour the honey-lime dressing over the prepared fruits in the mixing bowl.
  • Using a large spoon or spatula, gently toss the fruits with the dressing until evenly coated.
  • Be careful not to mash delicate fruits like berries.
  • If time allows, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the fruit salad to a covered container and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to chill slightly.
  • Once chilled (if desired), serve the breakfast fruit salad in individual bowls or plates.
