Ingredients
  

  • 4 whole grain bagels sliced in half
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon
  • 4 tablespoons reduced-fat cream cheese or Greek yogurt cream cheese
  • 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • 1/4 cup cucumber thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers optional
  • Fresh dill or chives chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Toast the bagels
  • Toast the whole grain bagel halves until lightly golden brown.
  • You can toast them in a toaster or under the broiler in the oven.
  • Spread the cream cheese
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of reduced-fat cream cheese (or Greek yogurt cream cheese) evenly on each toasted bagel half.
  • Assemble the bagels
  • Place slices of smoked salmon on the bottom half of each bagel.
  • Top with thinly sliced red onion, tomato slices, and cucumber slices. If using, sprinkle capers evenly over the toppings.
  • Season and garnish
  • Season the bagel sandwiches with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh dill or chives for added flavor.
  • Serve
  • Place the top halves of the bagels on each sandwich to form a complete bagel sandwich.
