CARROT FRIES

All kids love French fries and while they might not be the most harmful thing for kids, it is still deep-fried potatoes and constitutes as unhealthy.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large carrots
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional:
  • Fresh parsley
  • cilantro chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Wash and peel the carrots and cut them into strips like fries.
  • In a large bowl, toss the carrot strips with olive oil until they are evenly coated.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Sprinkle the spice mixture over the carrot strips and toss until the carrots are evenly coated with the spices.
  • Spread the seasoned carrot strips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the carrot fries are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Once roasted, remove the carrot fries from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Transfer the roasted carrot fries to a serving plate, garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve immediately.
